The parish community of Our Lady of Lourdes in Mountainside will celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes as well as the 10th anniversary of their Perpetual Adoration Chapel, on Feb. 11, at 7:30 p.m. in the church on 300 Central Ave., Mountainside. The Chapel first opened on Feb. 11, 2000, and has remained a place where adorers can visit with the Blessed Sacrament 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Mountainside recognizes the importance of providing services to children with special needs through its Project Child Fund efforts. The Mountainside School District can provide screening and evaluation for children, three to 21 years of age, who appear to have problems in communication, motor, social-emotional, or learning areas. Mountainside LocalSource Mountainside Library celebrates 75 years

More than 300 people turned out to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Mountainside Public Library on Oct. 4. The party ran from 1 to 4 p.m. and included storytelling, face painting, glitter tattoos, special guest speakers, music, lunch and, of course, anniversary cake. The event was co-sponsored by the Friends of the Mountainside Library and the Watts-Mountainside Community Foundation.
